Twenty years brother, in so many ways time has clipped along - in other ways, it has stopped. You are still just as loved, missed and revered, FTGAWB.

Hey LTB miss you sir. As always I am here because of you. I hope you found Holt up there. I know you 2 are keeping the fires warm at fiddlers green. For none but shades of cavalry men.

Hey lt. Miss you so much. Finished 3rd chemo in January. Got my new wheelchair. I got it painted green. Miss just bullshitin round with everyone. No one from the platoon speaks to me anymore. Guess we are just not relevant anymore sir. Still keeping forward sir. I won't forget your orders. I know we will sit and chat again at fiddlers green sir. You earned respect and honor even if the boys forget about us I know you remember me sir. Till the green sir.

Hey Capt badger. Hoskins here. Boyington want to finally buy his stetson and i told him I'd do a wearing ceremony for him. Since he isn't around a cav unit I am going to call you forward during the ceremony to testify that he is a true Cavalryman. He's worried but i told him I'd call you and holt from Fiddler’s Green to testify. I know you have no problems with Boyington and would ride forth with haste to testify for him..no amount of bullshitin with holt would prevent you both from grabbing a horse and riding up when a Cavalryman calls. Love you. I'll see you again in a few months

It's not a problem. Bob sent me a message. He said he's a idiot. I refused to do the ceremony. I uphold the honor and integrity of your soldier till the day I see him in Fiddler’s Green. A fine standing man. He's doing really good. Seemed happy in his message to me. Content amongst our friends. He wasn't drunk. Crystal clear in his feelings and orders regarding the ceremony. He made me chuckle a bit and rode his horse away.

I don't have any pictures of me and Bob at all together. We understood business. Taking selfie wasn't a thing. I do have pictures of me in the platoon doing stuff that he was there just not in a shot. He would be there as a officer trooper and friend but i can't film him as a officer fraternally with us enlisted. Do you understand? Would you like i send you some pictures of us a soldiers. His platoon. How we were under his last command? How he instilled the brotherhood in us. He would never be in these pictures but he was part of this group of men. You can see his leadership in the younger men around me. He was their mentor. I had already rode in combat before I met Bob so we were brothers. I joined his platoon and added my experience to the unit. Bob was a officer. I was enlisted. We couldn't ever be filmed together in those days. How can I send you just private pictures.?

That is so kind of you to offer the photos, but you were all a very important part of our son's life, not ours.

Absolutely. He's a loss that is still so strong in my heart. I was there. His loss was all ours out of nowhere. I feel your mourning and I hope you consider mine for your son true. I felt and heard the man who saved my life fall. I try to live within his image in my life so as you know the hurt cannot fade.
